To reduce some of the pressures from transitioning to new surroundings, KSU's Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning (CETL) coordinates a New Faculty Success Program to provide Full Time & Support Faculty with an introduction to the University to help establish a strong foundation for your future success at KSU.

Wednesday, August 9, 2017 - 8:30am to 4:30pm

This day-long orientation will provide graduate students with the tools to begin teaching. The orientation is free for all graduate students.

Since 1993, thousands of educators in colleges and universities from across the country and globe have participated in this interdisciplinary conference to discuss and share experiences and innovative teaching techniques. The Summit offers concurrent sessions on cutting-edge issues in pedagogy and student learning in a relaxed, congenial atmosphere. There are also opportunities for participants to network with fellow educators.

The Symposium of Student Scholars is an event to showcase student scholarship conducted at KSU during the past year. In past years, we have had a wonderful diversity in the projects presented, including readings of new works by budding authors, performance of new compositions by the musically inclined, explanations of curricular innovations by prospective educators, innovative business models by future entrepreneurs, urban landscape analysis by potential geographers, and scientific research papers.

The conference offers concurrent sessions and invited addresses on teaching techniques and issues associated with undergraduate education. Time is also available for participants to get to know each other and establish contacts with fellow teachers throughout the Southeast.

Formerly known as The Georgia Conference on College & University Teaching, the Research on Teaching and Learning Summit has been renamed to underscore our commitment to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, with an emphasis on research and evidence. Since 1993, thousands of educators from all 34 University System of Georgia colleges and universities, as well as many other schools in the country, and even educators from outside the US and Canada, have participated in this interdisciplinary conference.
