Teachers employ stories every day in their classrooms. But do these brief stories purposefully establish your teaching philosophy, amplify instruction, or create inclusivity? This interactive workshop explores storytelling as an effective, inclusive, and often overlooked pedagogical approach to enhance teaching and learning. Participants will pinpoint whether they currently integrate narrative into their undergraduate instruction. Further, they will identify opportunities for storytelling to punctuate classroom lecture, enhance discussion, and establish an inclusive classroom environment. Taking disciplinary-based goals into consideration, participants will create and share brief stories or anecdotes to purposefully integrate into their online or f2f classroom contexts.
