Diane Walker will discuss aspects of the Student Conduct and Academic Integrity (SCAI) Department:
who we are and what we do
how to address academic misconduct issues (promote academic honesty, prevent academic misconduct, and what to do & how to do it if you discover academic misconduct)
what to do if students are disruptive in the classroom
what to do if you are concerned about a student's behavior but it doesn't seem appropriate to use the student conduct process
Michael Sanseviro will provide an overview of campus housing and what KSU Residence Life has to offer, including off-campus housing services for students, faculty, and staff. In addition, he will review common trends and challenges we see within our residential student populations, and how these may impact what faculty experience in the classroom and in online discussions (such as the 6 week slump with medication irregularities). He will also discuss the living-learning programming that supports/enhances academic initiatives, including population-specific efforts, such as the FYRE (First Year Residential Experience) program. He will provide more details about what do to when you have concerns specifically about a residential student, including more details about parental involvement.
We'll also allow time for Q&A so we can address any questions, concerns, or entertain ideas that the faculty may have.
Finally, we will conduct a tour of the student residences, so we can see how the students live and learn!
