Educational Action Researchis concerned with exploring the dialogue between research and practice in educational settings. The considerable increase in interest in action research in recent years has been accompanied by the development of a number of different approaches: for example, to promote reflective practice; professional development; empowerment; understanding of tacit professional knowledge; curriculum development; individual, institutional and community change; and development of democratic management and administration.

We invite papers reporting on research that addresses any and all aspects of collegiate mathematics education. Research may focus on learning within particular mathematical domains. It may be concerned with more general cognitive processes such as problem solving, skill acquisition, conceptual development, mathematical creativity, cognitive styles, transition to collegiate mathematics, etc. Research reports may deal with issues associated with variations in teaching methods, classroom or laboratory contexts, or discourse patterns.
Publishes original, unpublished case manuscripts relating educational situations from K - 12 and higher education. It is designed to provide the education professional a venue to share original situations with other educators. Cases from a broad range of topics are appropriate for consideration in the JCSE providing the focus of the work is educational situations.
PMER invites original and previously unpublished submissions, including articles (no longer than 7500 words) addressing philosophical or theoretical issues relevant to music education; responses to articles that have appeared in PMER, or comments on other issues relevant to the philosophy of music education (no longer than 1500 words); and book reviews, offering critical analysis of recent publications dealing with philosophical or theoretical issues in music education (suggested length: 2500 words).
