Research and Issues in Music Education (RIME) is a privately funded international on-line music education research journal that advances scholarly thought by publishing articles promoting research, dialogue, practice, and policy in music education. RIME publishes quantitative, qualitative, philosophical, historical, speculative, and bibliographic articles that are peer-reviewed and contribute to an understanding of any focus and level of music education. As of 2015, this is the new home of Research and Issues in Music Education.
The MEIEA Journal is a refereed scholarly work published annually by the Music & Entertainment Industry Educators Association and is as a resource for anyone interested in scholarly research and writing about the music and entertainment industries. The MEIEA Journal is distributed to members of MEIEA, universities, libraries, and individuals concerned with music and entertainment industry education.
The mission of the Journal of Historical Research in Music Education (JHRME) is to encourage submission of high-quality historical research and bring to the readership reviews of books and media that advance knowledge in history and historiography. The journal serves to publish and disseminate studies that reflect a diverse range of topics spanning various time periods, music teaching and learning environments and cultural contexts, drawing on economic, intellectual, political, social and cultural perspectives to deepen understanding of the past.
The Australian Journal of Music Education (AJME) publishes articles that enhance knowledge regarding the teaching and learning of music with a special interest toward the Australian music education community. This may include articles that report results of quantitative or qualitative research studies, summarize bodies of research, present theories, models, or philosophical positions, etc. Articles should include a discussion of implications and applications to music teaching and learning, defined broadly
PMER invites original and previously unpublished submissions, including articles (no longer than 7500 words) addressing philosophical or theoretical issues relevant to music education; responses to articles that have appeared in PMER, or comments on other issues relevant to the philosophy of music education (no longer than 1500 words); and book reviews, offering critical analysis of recent publications dealing with philosophical or theoretical issues in music education (suggested length: 2500 words).
