The Journal of Community Engagement and Scholarship (JCES) is a peer-reviewed international journal through which faculty, staff, students, and community partners disseminate scholarly works. JCES integrates teaching, research, and community engagement in all disciplines, addressing critical problems identified through a community-participatory process.
Gateways: International Journal of Community Research and Engagement is a refereed journal concerned with the practice and processes of university-community engagement. It responds to a growing global movement of university-community collaborative research initiatives. It provides a forum for academics, practitioners and community representatives to explore issues and reflect on practices relating to the full range of engaged activity.
The eJournal of Public Affairs is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary, open-access journal published by Missouri State University and affiliated with the American Democracy Project. By providing an academic, nationally refereed venue for such work, the eJournal aims to advance the status of public scholarship. The journal is focused on scholarship related to engagement in the public arena and, in particular, to the following themes:
Educational Action Researchis concerned with exploring the dialogue between research and practice in educational settings. The considerable increase in interest in action research in recent years has been accompanied by the development of a number of different approaches: for example, to promote reflective practice; professional development; empowerment; understanding of tacit professional knowledge; curriculum development; individual, institutional and community change; and development of democratic management and administration.
Collaborative Anthropologies is a journal meant to engage the growing and ever-widening discussion of collaborative research and practice in anthropology and in closely related fields. Published annually, the journal facilitates dialogue about collaborative anthropologies, including but not limited to those between and among researchers and their interlocutors, anthropologists and other scholars/practitioners, academics and other professionals, universities and local communities, faculty and students.
The journal is peer-reviewed and has a strong focus on research, theory and practice about university engagement with an aim to strengthen the ‘scholarship of engagement’. Published bi-annually, the e-journal demonstrates the diversity of activity that occurs within both our institutions and our communities. Social responsiveness in higher education, community engaged learning and research, collaborative partnerships and higher education post-Bradley is explored, analysed and reviewed.
Journal of Public Deliberation is a peer review, open access journal with the principal objective of synthesizing the research, opinion, projects, experiments and experiences of academics and practitioners in the multi-disciplinary field of "deliberative democracy."
